How to Avoid a Christmas Food Hangover & Take my Kinesiology Digestion Assessment
Ahh Christmas again, we all have associations and strong memories related to this time of year. One thing that stays a constant is an abundance of rich food, alcohol, desserts, chocolate; and get togethers with family and/or friends, if we are lucky enough to have loved ones around us.
I don’t know about you but I find I eat more than usual at Christmas. In years passed the post-Christmas week has meant bad moods, fatigue, bloating and achey joints. I can avoid that by keeping my distance from inflammatory foods I find tempting – wheat and sugar, as well as unhelpful behaviours such as eating to beyond fullness, or constant grazing.
It takes effort, but it will make me feel good to just eat foods that are beneficial for me over Christmas, and be comfortable and energised after eating, while my family make noises of digestive discomfort (my siblings aren’t interested in kinesiology).
The indulgences of Christmas eating can worsen digestive issues already present. And the body is a mystery, like why the constipation, brain fog and painful knees after cake??
I can help you unravel the mystery with my new in-depth kinesiology digestion assessment, and help to resolve the imbalances in the body subsequently revealed. In order to digest comfortably we need our digestive fluids and processes working at their best. This is a new tool for my kinesiology toolbox, and I’m excited about it.
HCI, pepsin and gastrin in the stomach ensure we break down the food we eat so it can be utilised effectively. We also have digestive enzyme activity in the small intestine, while the gallbladder, liver, spleen and large intestine have important roles for digestion too. When working optimally, and we are eating foods that suit us, we won’t be tired after eating. When we are it is because it’s taking more energy to digest the food than it should do, it’s a message that something isn’t right. Though because everyone else around us might be tired after eating we can come to think it’s normal, and to be expected.
Using the digestion health assessment I can check your body’s current performance with these enzyme processes and condition of your digestive organs, and get them functioning at their best, ensuring you have easy digestion, with no bloating, gassiness, indigestion, and easy, comfortable bowel movements. When we are digesting well we still have energy after lunch and dinner, are clear headed, comfortable, and have good moods.
If I was limited to only one supplement I would choose a digestive enzyme. Being able to utilise the food we eat is crucial to every other bodily process, and to our overall wellbeing. We need fuel. If you need to take a digestive enzyme at mealtimes I’ll find the right one for you.
You can take the digestion assessment with me in person or on a video call, as part of a kinesiology treatment. (Please note that as I am not a doctor I can’t make diagnoses, rather kinesiology is used to find imbalances and resolve them, and manage chronic conditions. Prevention is better than cure.)
